Milani: Baked Bronzers and Baked Blush

Milani: Baked Bronzers and Baked Blush

Milani Baked Bronzer – Soleil – $9 | Milani Baked Bronzer – Golden – $9 | Milani Baked Blush – Rose D’Oro – $8
Back in October I did a massive haul from Cherry Culture which I never got the chance to blog about, but part of that haul were some items from Milani. I have never tried Milani products before but because I had seen them on other blogs I decided to take the plunge by trying two of their baked bronzers and a baked blush. The baked bronzer and blush range from Milani instantly reminded me of MAC’s Mineralize Skin Finish range however, Milani is an inexpensive alternative as they retail between $8-$9 (apprx £5-£6). Milani describes their baked bronzers as ‘A bronzing powder that features a mélange infusion of colors baked on Italian terracotta tiles… This hi-tech, streak free bronzer, gives a perfect radiant look.’

Soleil – ‘Medium tan with gold shimmer’
On my complexion this shade seems to be more of a highlighting colour than a tan/deep bronzer. It has a golden tone to it with lots very fine shimmer particles running through which would be great to place in areas that I want to add shimmer to. Such as, my cheekbones, bridge of my nose and on my eyelids (as an eye shadow). This colour would be great for the spring/summer months and it will definitely be in my makeup bag for my next beach holiday.
Golden – ‘Golden tan with gold shimmer’
This is the darkest bronzer shade of the collection and it would be a good shade to use to add a bit of warmth and glow to my skin, especially during the winter months. Just like Soleil it has a golden shimmer to it but not as much. This would be great applied with a kabuki/buffing brush all over my face especially on my cheekbones and forehead. If you are of a tan complexion this bronzer will look lovely on you but for anyone my skin tone or darker this will not be a bronzer that you can use to contour with. I will mainly be using this just to bring some warmth to my skin.
Rose D’Oro‘Pink and gold with shimmer’
This blush shade is just gorgeous! It is a warm coppery pink with a golden shimmer shade. I wore this shade for the first time yesterday over my contour and it was gorgeous. It is very easy to build up and it doesn’t leave a cakey texture when building up. Apparently it is a dupe of the MAC’s every popular MSF in Stereo Rose, I don’t own Stereo Rose so I can’t give my opinion on that but I would say that Rose D’Oro is a shade that would compliment practically all tan, brown and darker skin tones. This may became one of my everyday go to blushes.
Overall, the textures of the bronzers and blush are very soft which is surprising for a drugstore brand. They don’t look chalky when applied to the skin and very easy to build up and blend. My only negative of the is the packaging, I find that it is bulky and looks a little cheap. But hey! who am I to complain when comparing it to the quality of the product that comes in it and the cheap price too. I am very pleased with the Milani products I bought and I am happy I finally took the plunge to try the brand out. If you like the MAC Mineralize Skin Finish range but find them a little pricey I would definitely recommend trying Milani as a cheaper alternative.
