As far as I can remember I have always been a candle lover much to my mothers despair (she fears I will burn the house down). When I was at uni I used to buy tonnes of the Ikea scented candles and burn them all the time but with time I have moved away from the “basic” candles and have started to venture out a little bit. So after a recommendation from fellow candle enthusiasts I was pointed in the direction of Diptyque. Yes I know it’s all over the blogsphere at the moment but I like to take my time before I jump on a bandwagon. I have never had the opportunity to go out and smell any of the Diptyque scents so had to rely on suggestions and research until I finally decided to choose Baies.
Diptyque describes Baies as a “A bouquet of roses and blackcurrent leaves. I am not great at describing how things smell but all I know is it smells florally and it leaves my room and house (if I leave my door open) smelling very refreshing.
I opted for the mini version in case I didn’t like the scent when it arrived but I now wish I had bought the big larger size instead. The price for the larger size which is 190g is £40 and the 90g is £20. £20 or even £40 is not a price I would normally pay for a candle but trust me it was money well spent. I will definitely be buying more Diptyque candles and Freesia and Mimosa are next on my list to try. I would also like to try Neom & Jo Malone candles next.
